Importance of Working:
Importance of working with the Holy Spirit cannot be over accentuated. This is because the entire life of the believer is centered on the Holy Spirit. The life of any believer without the functional activities of the holy Spirit in his or her life will be meaningless.
“Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.”
In fact the Holy Spirit is the core existence of a believer. Without the Spirit of God inside a believer he or she lives a life that is empty. Therefore we need the Spirit of God as His children to operate in life. But before one can be found working with the Spirit, he must have the Spirit residing inside him or her.
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;
Importance of Working with the Spirit:
It is interesting to know that the Spirit comes into someone not by any magic or spooky way. It is only possible by mere hearing of the word of God. Once the word is spoken and one receives it, he or she has received the Spirit of God in him or her.
“And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee. And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.”
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
By the time one hears the word which is the truth and accepts it, the Spirit comes into him or her to dwell.
Why you need the Spirit?
- The Spirit through the Word gives life to you – John 6:63
The life a believer has is initiated by the Spirit and He sustains it, no one has what it takes to sustain it except the Spirit. Therefore, for the believer to rely on the Spirit for ongoing life activities becomes a necessity.
- The Spirit through the Word Sanctifies you – John 15:3, John 17 :17
One of the works of the Spirit in the life of the believer is the continuous sanctification of the believer. This He does through dishing of advice and instructions, therein He causes the believer to will and to do according to the will and pleasing of God.
- The Spirit comes with His gifts to you – 1 Corinthians 12:4
The existence of the Spirit of God in the life of the believer makes the gifts of the Spirit available for the believer to use in the ministries the Lord has given him or her. The arrival of the Spirit in the life of the believer stirs and makes the manifestation of these gifts possible and visible.
- The Spirit seals you in Christ – 2 Corinthians 1:22
The only one that can confirm that a believer is in Christ is the Spirit of Christ. No believer has the right to say that he or she is of Christ without the Spirit giving credence.
Further Reasons Why You Need The Holy Spirit
- The Spirit helps you to pray – Roman 8:26
Prayer is not a carnal activity. It is an activity that the Spirit in the believer conducts and dictates the pace. It implies that without the Spirit of God in a believer, his or her prayers will lack direction and power.
- The Spirit provides boldness – 2 Timothy 1:7
The needed effrontery to stand and declare that one is a believer in Christ is only given by the Holy Spirit. Without the Spirit of God in a believer he or she will lack the ability to make known his or her stand in Christ. The boldness to preach the gospel and to declare that Jesus is Lord comes from the Holy Spirit.
- The Spirit leads you as a son of God – Acts 8:29, 11:12, 16:7, Romans 8:14,
When a man has accepted Jesus as his Lord and savior, by default he has automatically invited the Spirit of God to be his pilot. The affairs of such a person is under the radar of the Holy Spirit and He tells him or her where and how to go about things in life. He lacks no direction!
