Darkness, The Fate Of People In It:
Darkness, the fate of people in it – The kingdom of Light and kingdom of darkness are real. And at any given time they have occupants in them. It is interesting to know that these occupants do have the right to make their residence permanent in any of the Kingdoms where they are dwelling for the time being. The truth stands that those residing in the kingdom of darkness can willingly migrate to the Kingdom of Light.
However, whoever is besieged by the power of darkness cannot be saved by any outside force from the earth. This is because there is no force that is stronger than the force of darkness except the power of light. The truth stands that there is no way God can deliver a person under the influence of darkness. The salvation of such a person must be by a willingly submission to the will of God. He has to decide by stretching out his hand and saying here I am save me Lord.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
Darkness – Faith In The Gospel:
It is for this reason that the gospel is being preached today to all and sundry places. And many who believe by faith, it is accounted unto them for righteousness. The outcome is that they are saved by the power of the Word they received. One thing to note here is that nobody is being coerced to believe. It’s a thing of willingness. This willingness is a product of total conviction from the inside of the individual that receives the message.
This personal conviction gives someone a full assurance of what he is doing. No one can input it on him that what he has believed is a lie. Because right on his inside, he knows what has transpired. The outcome of his life is not something an outside force can comprehend. This is because the force working inside is incomprehensible to the forces of darkness. There’s this metamorphosis that has taken place which totally puts the life of the individual in the opposite direction of his formal life.
Though this is a process, but the good thing is that one is no longer in darkness. And the forces of darkness are no longer in control of the life in question. This is considering the fact that they have lost their grip and a new hand has taken over.
Light Takes Over Darkness:
The New Hand that takes over will begin to direct the affairs of the life of the individual. He has been transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light. Sooner or later, the Light will certainly take over him and overwhelm him. It’s important to state that until this is done the Holy Spirit won’t do anything in the life of the individual. This is because the Light must come before the Spirit will act.
“And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
2 Corinthians 4:3-4
It’s regrettable that the gospel of salvation has been veiled to the eyes of the people who are under the influence of the power of darkness. Their minds have been blinded by the god of darkness who doesn’t want them to see the Light of the gospel. This gospel enlightens the hearts of men and reveals the true nature of Christ to them. The gospel does this by creating the understanding that they are truly created in the image of God.
The determining factor still remains their readiness to accept the gospel. Once arrived at; the light of the gospel will certainly shine in their heart no matter how dark it is. They will begin to see the glory of Christ as the knowledge of God is being unfolded to them.
However, in a situation where someone refuses to accept the Good News and lives his life the way and manner he desires, the judgment that is awaiting the power of darkness is meant for him as well. But before this he will have no excuse because the gospel had been preached to him and he refused.
