Avoid Fake Love – Pastor Chukwuemeka Charles Asiegbu

Fake Love:

Fake Love

Fake love – Sometimes we do demonstrate a kind of love to people we claim to love that is not real love. On this note, we see people doing all sorts of things in the family, society, church and in their relationship with others, thinking that it is a way to show how much they love them. It is very common these days to see parents enhancing corrupt practices in the lives of their children. And it’s no longer hidden that parents directly or indirectly sponsor their children and wards in examination malpractices. It is not a way to show how much they love them. Rather it is a way to show how much they want those children to be destroyed.

Also we’ve seen parents giving credence to an unhealthy relationship between their children who are of the opposite sex. In doing this, they have just succeeded in inculcating immorality in the lives of the said children. This, as it is, shows the gravity to which they would like their children to be destroyed. Although sometimes on the surface, it seems to be like an expression of “love” to their children. When such parents suggest by their actions how much they want their children to have anything that will make them have the impression that they are loved. On the contrary, little do these parents who pamper such heinous character in their children realize that they have successfully lured them into bondage of sexual promiscuity.

Fake Love In The Public Sector:

Normally we see political and public office holders pledging allegiance to the laws of the land. This they do by assuring the people how much they love them. And how much they will obey and work by the specifics of the constitution of the land. It is unfortunate to know that their love for the people is being replaced by how much they share among their friends and relatives. It is not hidden that most of them award contracts and jobs to their friends and relatives who are qualified. This does not mean that they love the country or the establishment. That is a demonstration of destructive ethics on the land.

As a public office holder, using your position to gain access and have intimacy with the opposite sex in your establishment is not an expression of love to them. It is an act that is vile and detrimental to the establishment you are heading. Through this means so many people have gained promotion or have been elevated to a position they did not merit. And that explains the reason for low productivity or output in so many establishments.

Fake Love In The Church:

If preachers of the gospel refuse to give their audience the right gospel, they haven’t demonstrated that he loves them. Rather, they have shown them the way to destruction. If a preacher in the church refuses to speak out against evil because of the fear of people who would leave the church. He has not paid the debt of love to them. It is not out place to find preachers who preach just to make sure that their audiences are pleased. These preachers who preach to receive the acceptance of their audience have betrayed the love of Christ upon the Church.

There are a lot of things happening around the world, some of which are so terrible to hear when mentioned. Such as:  armed robbery attack, sexual harassment and different types of deceptions going on. But it is more terrible to hear and know that such things are taking place in the Church of God. Yes, they are happening and are real in the Church; and someone has to talk about them. The more we obviate to talk about it the more the situation is gaining ground in the Church. And it becomes a routine to the class of people called men of God (MOG),who easily decide to have intimacy with any opposite sex. This they do with (married/unmarried) in their congregations and go unscratched.

Sexual Scandals:

No member of the Church dares to talk. This is because the so called MOGs have brainwashed their members.  They inculcated an ideology that makes their congregation see them as “The called-of-God or the anointed men of God”. As a result, they are not accountable to the members, rather to God who called them. So the teaching of “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm” has been misconstrued. This pretense is a deception from the pit of hell that should be denounced from every well-meaning Christian.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad”.

2Corinthians 5:10

Apostle Paul’s Kind Of Love:

Apostle Peter was an apostle of Christ; in fact a “Chief” among the apostles. But Apostle Paul rebuked him in the presence of the congregation. This he did when Peter was about to indirectly introduce a system that buttresses legalism in the Church. Apostle Paul knew very well that Apostle Peter had the call of God on him. And that he was an anointed man of God. No doubt about that, but he went ahead to rebuke him for his behaviour. Apostle Paul did not do all that in order to show supremacy over Apostle Peter. But a gesture to demonstrate how much he loved him. Also, Apostle Paul wants to see him as a leader doing the right thing.

“Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.  And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews?”

Galatians 2:11-14

The Right Love In The Church:

Therefore, being a man of God does not mean that you cannot account for any immoderation done to the Church. Let it be known that all men of God are properties to the Church. What this means is that, they belong to the Church and the Church belongs to God. And God bought her with the precious blood of His Son. Our positions in the Church are just privileges giving to us by God. That’s in order for us to serve Him better. But as we serve in these capacities, it doesn’t mean that in the sight of God we are any better than other members. The only thing that can make us better is our level of faithfulness as we continue to discharge our duties.

Read this Man’s life

When the Church refuses to deal with their men of God who indulge in promiscuities, it signifies that the Church has failed to understand the love of God.  And therefore, it is no longer a Church, but a place of gathering where anything goes. If the Church refuses to pay the debt of love that she owes people, in the right step or manner. It shows that the Church doesn’t love the world in the same manner God loved the world.
