Viral Diseases And God:
Viral diseases and God – The question of why God allows viral diseases to occur and take the life of people seems to defame the claim of His existence. There is this school of thought that suggests that if there is God, He should have the remedy to these maladies. However, His silence during perilous times shows that he doesn’t exist. Ironically, some of those who believe that He does exist have attributed the existence and manifestation of these viral diseases to God. They are of the opinion that God created these viral diseases and He uses them to punish offenders.
Recently, some people have attributed the manifestation of Coronavirus as a tool in the hand of God to cleanse the earth. This is indirectly suggesting that God is behind the death of people dying as a result of Coronavirus. This fat lie has to be repudiated. This is very important because it is creating a negative understanding of who God is. Firstly, no disease was created by God. Also, no viral disease causing agent(s) was a creation of God. God never created anything that kills. Let’s look at what the scripture says in the quotation below;
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
Viral Diseases Are Not God’s Creation:
The stipulations in the above quotation are an indication that God didn’t just create things but He profoundly examined the work of His hand. The result of His examination is the avowal of goodness on the things He had made. The use of the word behold means He saw them with His ‘eyes’ and examined them. The pronouncement of good on them means that they were spotless. Yes, it means that they were totally good and not half good. The nature or disposition of the word good in the sentence means that the creatures created by God cannot produce anything bad.
This implies that they have no sole ability to produce death. If one examines the things created by God, it is very clear that the word death was not listed. The only negative word that appeared in the first chapter of Genesis is darkness and God took care of it. God produced life and never produced death. The reality is that it is very impossible for God to produce death because He cannot. The word death/die appeared in the second chapter of Genesis. Let’s see how it came into being.
“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
Man Is In Charge Not God:
Here, God in His foreknowledge knew what will lead man to die and then He warned him of it. The instruction, says “thou shalt not eat of it”, it went ahead to say that “for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” This is very interesting because God didn’t produce death but warned man of the consequence of taking the source of death.
Therefore, it behooves on man to activate or not to activate death. The implication here is that death wouldn’t come into existence unless there is activation by man. This therefore, makes man the creator of death not God. This is considering that fact that the bibles says thus;
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
Man Has The Capacity:
It is interesting to note that whatever becomes of the earth was and is in the hand of man. This is true because the authority to maintain and care for the earth has been handed over to man. See Genesis chapter 26. So for life to continue to exist it was and is in the hand of man. Also for death to reign over man it was and is in the hand of man. Therefore, the determinant/factor is man! Again, it is important to point out that man has the ultimate solution to whatever maladies or situations that crop in earth. This fact is true because man is the regent of God on this earth.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
The implication of the statement above is that man has been imparted with the ability to take care of the earth. Also, the statement above suggests that God relinquished His authority over the earth to man. Hence it is apt to say that man rules the earth not God. Many adverse things that are happening on the face of the earth could be attributed to the activities of man.
Furthermore, in the days of Moses God taught them how to deal with viral diseases in order to limit contractions. In the book of Leviticus chapter 13 He taught the priests to separate anybody that has viral disease from the crowd. Through isolation many diseases that were of alienated easily.
Viral Diseases Man’s Responsibility:
It shows that man cannot be exempted from the development and spreading of viral diseases. Just as it was in the days of Adam that he activated death, so it is that his children are activating deaths these days. Evidences have shown that the manifestations of viral diseases are as a result of man’s activities. It is needless mentioning or involving God in what He has no hands.
On the other hand, it is vital to say that God didn’t leave man empty. He created and gave man the power and the ingenuity to take care of the earth. Man has what it takes to make the most out of the earth. Man has the ability to control and quench viral diseases because he has been endowed. As a result of this, God shouldn’t be blamed for man’s weaknesses.
