The believer’s Fighting Tools In Christ – Pastor Chukwuemeka Charles Asiegbu

Fight In Christ:

FightFight – the word fight is not something that somehow should be connected to a believer in Christ. And therefore, the question is, can a believer fight? This question is a resounding type and should be answered. Let’s see what Apostle Paul says about a believer and fight and the kind of tools he should use in fighting.

The functions of ear

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds 😉 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

As believers who are in Christ. We have come into Him and in Him is a different environment from what is obtainable from the world. The practices of the world and the practices of in Christ environment are two worlds apart. Though, there may be same situation but it is not possible to handle it the same way. The people in the world fight also the people in Christ fight or war as well. But the difference is that believers do not war like them that are in the world. The verse above says that they war in the flesh and we do not war in the flesh rather in the Spirit. So while the people in the world have their tools of fighting, which are physical things like physical mouth, knife, stone, physical hands, or body, bombs, missiles armored vehicles and tanks etc.

Fight With Different Weapons:

The people in Christ have a different set of weapons of warfare. Just like we have in the case of David and Goliath, it was clear that Goliath came to David with all the physical armories therein. And David was also given physical armories but at the end he refused to war with them. He told Saul, I can’t fight with these, because he understood that these physical armories cannot win the war. Then he went to Goliath and told that;

“Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.”

1 Samuel 17:45

Today, the system is still the same for every believer in the name of Christ. We have our own tools to fight battle and they are infallible tools. Firstly, is important that we understand the nature of war we are in. It is not a physical fight though many things appear in the physical. But the emanations of them are not physical. Apostle Paul while writing to the Ephesians let them understood the kind of war we are in and the kinds of elements we engage in the fight.

The Armour Of God:

Let’s see the quotation below.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Ephesians 6:11-13

He went ahead to tell them to put on the tools for the warfare which are:

“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

Ephesians 6:14-18

The List of The Armors:

  1. Truth to girt one’s loins
  2. The breastplate of righteousness for one’s heart
  3. Gospel of peace for one’s feet.. Romans 10:15
  4. Shield of faith for one to quench the fiery darts of the wicked.
  5. The helmet of salvation, to cover one’s head in case of any arrow
  6. The sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.
  7. Praying always in order to establish your authorities.
  8. Being persevere as you do that…

How To Use The Weapons:

However, the use of the above mentioned does not entail the application of physical demonstrative actions. It is not like a believer will use the above tools to pray for the death of his enemies. And of course he should not use them for the destruction of the businesses of his enemies. The above mentioned tools are only applicable in the spreading of the gospel of Christ. And this is how believers fight their war! The believers carry out their fight through the spreading of the gospel of Christ and win in the gospel. Note that the above mentioned are sourced out of the gospel. They are products of the gospel of Christ. Therefore, when a believer is attacked physical his response to the attack is preaching the gospel. The gospel can be preached through the believer’s body language or speech. While he does that, the above mentioned armories will begin to manifest.
