Placement In Christ:
Placement In Christ: one of the problems most Christians/believers encounter is the problem of identity. Therefore, it is important that every believer is taught who he is or who he has become in Christ. The word in Christ is not slang or colloquia term in the bible but the believer’s placement. This is because the journey of the believer starts in Christ and ends in Christ. In Christ therefore, is the dwelling place of the believer.
- When you believe the gospel you have come into Christ and in Christ you are recreated.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;”
2 Corinthians 5:17 – 18
- You are a son to God
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”
1 John 3:1-2.
Placement In Christ Not A Reward:
- You are created in Christ with good works… Meaning nothing else should come out of you except good works
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
- You are created in the image of God
“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him”
- You are a partaker of God’s divine nature
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
2 Peter 1:4
- You are born of the word of God –
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
1 Peter 1:23
“Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”
God’s Representative and Righteousness:
- You are God’s representative on this earth
“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”
2 Corinthians 5:20
- You epitomize the righteousness of God. If anyone is looking for the righteousness of God when he sees a believer in Christ he has seen the righteousness of God.
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
“And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”
Placement In Christ Not A Reward:
The positions mentioned above are the placements the believer in Christ has received as a result of his believer in Christ. The word placement is this context means that the position are not merited or a reward to the believer. The placements are given to the believer by the grace of God. It is apt to say that these positions or placements are the product of God’s grace on the believer. So no believer should boast about them but enjoy them in Christ!
