Public Perception Issues:
Public – A few years back, a dear sister engaged me in a discussion over a younger minister whom she said had an attitude in his posts on face book. She felt I should distance myself from him and not let people see me in a different light.
I laughed it off. Firstly I had been at the receiving end of such “can’t touch this” disclaimer. So I said to her Christianity forbids that we dissociate from those who bless us ,love us or are loved of us and more so, we are all work in progress. More so, it’s not about us but the message
“For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.”
2 Corinthians 4:5
And we can’t be against the truth and yet lay claim on it
“For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.”
2 Corinthians 13:8
I identify with him or her or such persons and will continue to post his or her teachings as long as it’s the Word
Public Perception I don’t Live in Denial:
I have seen how we have so great a cloud of deniers, hypocrites.
There are those who want your relationship to be secret and not public. They prefer enjoying the benefits of your ministry or service but don’t want to take the heat of identifying with you publicly. In order to be in the good light of some other principalities. Or to ensure their flock don’t leave for yours.
Such aren’t your true friends
“Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;”
2 Timothy 1:8
True friends aren’t Ashamed of you.
“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;”
2 Timothy 3:14
To learn from someone’s teaching and not want to be seen with them publicly is hypocrisy.
Public affirmation is very basic in Christianity
God did this to His son
“And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
“While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.”
He further did this at the resurrection
“And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead”
Public Perception Jesus Also With Us:
“For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren. Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.”
Unto my brethren.
Barnabas knew of this
“But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.”
Even though many folks saw Paul / Saul in a different light
“And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.”
It’s a shame to have folks want to keep your relationship away from public eye, yet feed off the same. Such folks are selfish and sensual.
It is worldly wisdom
“But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.”
They Lie Against The Truth:
Joseph of Arimathaea honored Jesus even in his absence
“And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.”
Just like Nicodemus, had earlier been secret disciples but there showed up where it mattered.
To identify publicly is a matter of honor.
You ask him questions privately, read his books, study his teachings, preach from there but can’t mention him or her publicly.
You are a hypocrite.
I know folks who do this to other ministers whom they claim are critical etc. But hey, check their teachings; they make Rank Xerox green with envy.
Liars and deniers but for the intercession of Christ they should be made for destruction.
“Lying lips are abomination to the Lord : but they that deal truly are his delight.”
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
That Is Not In A Good Company:
To be dishonest about your source of information and revelation is to tell lies and not keep away from public identification is evil.
Men who do such don’t honor you and live in dishonor.
They don’t contribute to ministries which they watch their teachings, download its materials secretly and teach them
“Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.”
Jesus has harsh words for them
“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.”
If you can’t publicly identify, why privately get blessed??????!!!!!
O you hypocrite .
I identify with my friends, warts and all .
The message has bound us together and we must thus contend,
We must watch those who want the power and refuse the pain and pressure that comes with it, Selah.
To Act Like Peter:
“But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee. Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.”
Matthew 26:70, 72-74
After reading this despicable conduct, is terrible.
To not be sober and contrite as he was is shocking
“And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.”
This is worse.
In conclusion, watch out for this tribe of deniers, liars and hypocrites, they aren’t sincere ministers of the message.
They hold it in dishonesty
“But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”
2 Corinthians 4:2
And must be exposed for what they are.
