Avoid Failure In Life:
Avoid failure – The presence of the following in a life will inevitably breed failure in such a life. Prayerfully study and deal with them on a daily basis if you sincerely mean to triumph in victory.
Avoid Failure Don’t Lack Focus
In order to avoid failure, success is built upon this factor and lack of it in life, leads to failure. Many people who live a life of success today did go through this path. Many learnt their lessons and refocused their attention on the reality on ground.

To avoid failure as a child of God there are promises that you might have received from God. It is your duty to focus on them, and do not remove your attention from them. These promises contain the issues of your life, and therefore they should be duly followed. Many men of God in the Bible lost focus on the promises of God for them. And this caused great havoc in their relationship with God and their family life.

To avoid failure a believer should understand that the only ingredient the enemy uses against God’s people to divert their attention is problems. Once attention is given to problems, focus is lost towards the promises of God. The life of every child of God stands on the promises of God for him. Abraham, a man of faith and a friend of God, didn’t avoid failure as he once went through this path. He received a promise from God that he will bear a son, but along the line he lost focus on this promise God gave him.
Focus Is very Important
If he was focused on this promise, Hagar and Ishmael wouldn’t have come into the picture of his family tree. This is irrespective of any external forces against him. Notice that this is one thing Abraham did that we should not do. We should learn from this mistake and remain focused on the promises of God in our lives. We should therefore learn from that one person who never lost focus on the promise and will of God for His life. I am talking about Jesus. We are told that:
The Focus Of Jesus
“Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to accomplish His work”
The promises of God are an embodiment of His will for us. What this means is that our focus in life should be built on these promise. Jesus never deviated from this goal. He pursued it till He accomplished His work on earth. There were a lot of distractions that came on the way of Jesus. Satan came and tempted Him, but He did not yield to the voice of Satan. Unlike Abraham who yielded to Sarah’s evil suggestion of having an extra marital affair with her maid. Let the promises of God be our food every day as we mediate and walk in them.
Avoid failure by not ignoring the little that you have
Another thing that will help us to avoid failure in life is to recognize that there are “little blessings”. These are found in the life of every individual. They are not the major, they are the minor. But for you to get to the major you have to go through minors in life. They are the catalysts for development. They bring one to the forefront so that he can be noticed by the interested “investors” in his life.
“Who despises the day of small things”
We avoid failure by cultivating an attitude that exhibits respect and high honour for small beginnings in our lives. The attitude of neglect should be avoided even when it looks as if we are not making progress. Ignoring this little and humble beginning will eventually lead to failure. Total commitment to the little beginning is what we need in order to avoid failure at this stage. It is important to say that the little blessings do not describe who you are. They are just the tip of the iceberg about you. But you must believe in it and work with it. It does not really define where you are going but it is just the stepping stone for you to mount and soar high like an eagle in the air.
Virtually all the successful people started with that little in them. For instance, Jesus talks about the Mustard Seed and it glaring smallness. No one can think that such a small seed can germinate and grow up into a mighty tree. We should learn from this Mustard Seed in equipping and supporting our inherent blessings.
To Avoid Failure Don’t Refuse to accept rebuke from God
Again in order to avoid failure understand that in God there is no hatred at all. It is always the desire of God to see that we live a perfect life according to His will. God proves this through His gestures in rebuking and correcting us, but He cannot coerce us to accept His rebuke. God’s rebuke is His act of love for us. We may think that we love ourselves more but the truth is that there is no way we can love ourselves more than God does. If God had not loved you why would He bring you into this life? Your coming into this world is for His glory. So, taking care of you is His ultimate priority, and He does that through His rebuke.
In order to see that we avoid failure, God is always at hand to give us guidelines when we are in puzzled situations, because of His love for us. He does this through His word.
“Give heed to my reproof; behold, I will pour out my thoughts to you; I will make my words known to you. Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, and you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when panic strikes you, when panic strikes you like a storm, and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me”
The Benefits Of Rebuke
There are enormous benefits in accepting God’s rebuke and one of them is that it helps us to avoid failure. Again it makes God to pour out His Spirit upon us. When that is done we will not say we have no comforter and director. The Spirit of the Lord will be our comforter and director. We will always know what to do and do them at the right time. When you know what to do and do them at the right time that is success and not failure. Many who have failed to accept the rebuke from God and disdained his counsel are doomed to failure. This situation is prominent in the life of many Christians today and they wonder why they don’t succeed in life.
Not developing the Talents in you
In order to avoid failure we should understand that success is achieved through and by the talents that we have. One can only give what he has. There is no way you can offer what you do not have. And the things that you have are things you will be known for. Also by them you can always build your life. These things are not your products. They came with you as God created you. He planted them in your life. You don’t know when it took place but as you continue to live you find out that you can deliver such things. We avoid failure by understanding that these things don’t just grow on their own, though they are inside you. You have to work on them to grow and make a positive impact in your life and that of others.
Generally, people succeed because they work on the things that are in them. But all those who act differently never succeed. What they do is to fail. When we become committed in developing our talents, we prove to God that we are faithful to what He has given us. Then He will enrich us the more through these talents.
“He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much; and he who is dishonest in a very little is dishonest also in much”
The Talent Sharing
Jesus told a story of a business man who shared some amount of “money” to his servants. This is because he was to embark on a journey. The money is for them to do business with during the period of his absence. Two out of the three invested their money and made some profits, while the third went and buried his share. At the end he made no profit. The best thing that this indolent servant could get from his master when the latter finally returned was a curse. If talents are not developed, instead of becoming a blessing, they will be turned into a curse. And this is not the mind of God for us.
The most important thing that one needs to have in developing his talents is patience. Considering that talents do not grow overnight. They do grow overtime. This crucial factor will help someone to be able to avoid failure in life. This involves a lot of persuasion and endurance from you. Another thing you need to know is that, as you are going through this process, it is obvious that you are going to meet so many people along the line. Many of whom may be of great encouragement while others maybe agents of devastation, insult and rejection. Do not mind any reaction from people. Just move on. It is only by exhibiting such an attitude that you can prove your faithfulness to God.
Not Recognizing the Source of your Talents
Nothing in life just happens on its own. This fact if we come to terms with it will help us to avoid failure. There is a cause and there is an effect. Everything has a source. So also our talents have a source. They did not just exist in us. There is a saying that if you do not know where you are coming from you will not know where you are going. If you don’t appreciate the source of your talents you will not value the talents. And if you do not value them you cannot avoid failure in life. For sure, talents are gifts from God and there are no ways to dispute this statement.
“Every good endowment and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change”
Avoid Failure Is To Avoid This Danger
The danger in not recognizing God as the source of our talents is that it will make us live a life that is independent of God. This kind of life will compel us to tend to think that we made ourselves. I guess you can predict the aftermath? We will end up becoming braggadocios. That is not why talents were given to us. They were given so that we can become humble, and serve God with them.
Not recognizing God as the source of our talents will always lead us to oppose God. Notwithstanding that we may grow to the peak. But one thing is clear, if we analyze the elevation graph of the people who do not accept God as the source of their talents, we see that their downfall was with tremendous speed. But when we recognize God as the source of our talents and honour Him with them, we will be building a legacy that will endure and pass from us to our coming generations.
