Jesus Resurrection Benefits:
Jesus resurrection benefits to the man that is in Him are numerous to be mentioned but we are going to take few of them. To talk about Jesus resurrection benefits is to talk about the purpose of His resurrection. In other words Jesus resurrection benefits can be located and ascertained in the purpose of His resurrection. This statement implies that Jesus didn’t die an ordinary death and most importantly He didn’t resurrect for sake of it. That is to say there are reasons why He died and there are reasons why He rose.

Therefore, His death and resurrection were meant to accomplish purposes and these purposes are eternal. This is because the death and resurrection of Jesus is considered an eternal purpose and plan of God. The implication of this statement is that Jesus resurrection benefits are eternal as well. This is because nothing that emanates from eternity will produce physical material gains.
The scripture made the purposes of His resurrection known to us clearly. Apostle in one of his epistle stated thus;
“Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”

The verse above says that Jesus was ‘delivered for our offences’ entailing that He didn’t die because He committed any offense. He was punished and He died for the offences committed by others. The next thing it says is that He ‘was raised again for our justification’.
Justification Is One Of Jesus Resurrection Benefits:
Therefore, one of Jesus resurrection benefits to a man in him is justification. Now the word justification is a legal word and has legal interpretation. It means to be declared guiltless or to be declared innocent before the law. Here, for us to get it right we have to go back to the verse again. Firstly it states that He was delivered for our offences meaning the people in question committed offences.

Then He came forward to take the punishment meant for them. And since He died it means that the punishment for the offences is death, hence he died for the offences committed by these people. The implication here is that His resurrection is to justify that the people in question didn’t commit any offence. What Apostle Paul is saying in this verse above is not a makeup story but something that was prophesied in the Old Testament.
”But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

The verse above is complement to what Apostle Paul declared in Romans 4:25. So Christ suffered for our iniquities and not His for in Him there is not sin. Apostle Paul puts it beter this way;
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
Righteousness Is Another Jesus Resurrection Benefit:
From the verse above we can deduce that Jesus resurrection benefits include making the man in Him righteous. And not just righteous but they are made the righteousness of God in Him. This is very powerful because it is unachievable by man on any standard or scale in life. This is what the grace of God can offer to man. The righteousness of God is that nature of God that made Him right by any standard. The righteousness of God stands for the justice of God which is unequivocally right by any standard.

It is that right nature or standing of God that makes Him right irrespective of man’s opinion or view. This infers that one of Jesus resurrection benefits is that the man in Christ has been made righteous irrespective of his opinion and others around. And since he has been made the righteousness of God in Christ it means he has been brought into the class of God. He shares the class and standard of God in Christ. This is mind blowing!
No wonder Apostle Paul declared this statement in his epistles to the Romans that;
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.”

The word now in the verse above entails the present condition of the man in Christ. Since he has been justified, there is no condemnation to him. It is not possible for one to obtain justification and thereafter be condemned. It is either you are justified or condemned. Hence, it is not possible to have justification and condemnation in one place, one gives way for the other.
The Man In Christ Is Freed From Condemnation:
Therefore, one of Jesus resurrection benefits is that the man in Christ has been freed from condemnation. The truth is that one cannot be in the class of God and be condemned, simply because there’s no condemnation in God. This has nothing to do with your character but has much to do with your environment. And surely, your environment will definitely change your character. The change will come as a result of the sacrifice which He has made. Let’s see the result of this sacrifice as declared by the writer of the book of Hebrews below.
“For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”

In the above verse are two important words not to ignore by any bible student and they are ‘perfected and sanctified’. Interestingly, both words are in the past tense meaning that they have been done. The writer says that Jesus has perfected the man in Him because the sacrifice he made sanctified them. Therefore, one of Jesus resurrection benefits is that the man in Him has been perfected. This implies that the man in Christ has obtained perfection from Christ. Here it is interesting to know that the perfection is not the job of the man in Him but His job. And this job has been done by Christ and will not be done by Him. This statement shows that one cannot be in Christ and be looking for perfection because in Christ is perfection.

Sanctification Is One Of Jesus Resurrection Benefits:
Again, one of Jesus resurrection benefits is that the man in Christ has obtained sanctification. The word sanctification means consecration or set apart. In other words the man in Christ has been made pure. Hence, the man in Christ has been made pure in the sight of God. And for this reason it is apt to say that the man in Christ has been accepted in the household of God. He is a citizen of God’s family. The writer of the book of Hebrews puts it this way.
“For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren.”

In this case, by virtue of Jesus resurrection the man in Christ has become a brother to Jesus Christ. They share one and the same fatherhood and have the same inheritance in God.
“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
Halleluiah, glory be to Jesus in the highest!
