Gentile Justification: God Justified The Gentiles – How To Understand The Scripture Episode 9

Gentile Justification:

Gentile JustificationGentile justification is not really a New Testament thing but what God did even before the foundation of the earth. Again, the stipulations of this quotation Acts 10:11-16 implies that the gentile justification is before the old order. For confirmation, the revelation of gentile justification was given to Apostle Peter therefore he has no right to judge them. Though, gentile justification remains a mystery to the generation of the old order because of lack of exact knowledge of God.

However, at the fullness of time the revelation of this mystery was made known in the New Testament. And it means even in the Old Testament the gentile justification is a reality concealed. Therefore, in the mind of God the Gentiles as they were called are a people of God. Just that the people who think they knew God then didn’t know Him better in that direction. And hence because lack of knowledge of God in them the segregation exist. Let’s see what is said in the scripture by prophet Hosea –

“And I will sow her unto me in the earth; also I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.”

Hosea 2:23

The Wrong Thought About The Gentiles:

In the quotation above, it is easy for one to deduce that God never separated Himself from the Gentiles. But the separation was an establishment built in the mindset of people who thought they knew God. So the advent of the Holy Ghost revelation of the scripture to the Apostles made matters better. And the people could see that gentile justification is really the mind of God.

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

1 Corinthians 2:9-10

The people in the old order didn’t see and never heard what the Holy Spirit has revealed to the Apostles. And these revelations made greater impact in the knowledge of God in the present dispensation. The revelation of gentile justification became the focal point as the Holy Spirit made it known. One of the adverse effects of the coded nature of the Scripture in the old order is that it hindered the salvation message. Some of the early apostles found it difficult to preach to gentile because they lack the knowledge that gentile justification has taken place. Their eyes were limited within the periphery of the level of knowledge they had at that particular time. However, by the grace of God the revelation of gentile justification came to Apostle Paul.

The Consequence Of Lack Of Knowledge:

The implication of this is that many would have been saved if they have this knowledge. Here, Apostle Paul speaking to Timothy his spiritual son, made an important statement. He states that Timothy through his knowledge of the Scripture he received the wisdom that granted him salvation (2 Timothy 3:15).

Therefore, it is very important that the Scripture should be unlocked. The usefulness of this is that people of different ages should see what the provision of God is. Especially, as regards to gentile justification and man’s salvation. Many in those eras missed their salvation because of lack the knowledge of what the Scripture has said concerning them.

However, is not like people were not reading the Scriptures. They were but the issue is that they couldn’t understand what the scriptures were saying. And because of this gentile justification became a hidden issue. Even the prophets that prophesied in the scripture didn’t know what they were saying. This is because they lack the necessary revelation knowledge to comprehend whatever they prophesied.  For instance, the Ethiopian eunuch was eagerly reading the scripture but he was unable to understand the meaning of what he was reading. The teaching of Philip, a man who has been schooled in the knowledge of the Scripture unfolds what the lines meant.

“And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? Also he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.”

(Acts 8:30-31).

The Understanding Of Salvation Is Established In The Scripture:

The point is that for the scriptures to be understood by any reader, there is the need for a man who is filled with the knowledge of the truth. The truth here is the revealed knowledge which the teacher will teach the reader.

It is obvious that the Pharisees mishandled the content of the scripture. This is because they lack the understanding of it as Jesus declared to them.

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.”

(Matthew 22:29).

Apostle Paul in his teaching declared that his gospel was rooted in the revealed knowledge of the mystery. The mystery here is the scripture. Meaning that, he taught and unfolded those things that are rarely visible to the eyes of the laymen.

“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,”

 (Romans 16:25).

As he also said to the Ephesians that;

“How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;”

(Ephesians 3:3-5).

The Importance Of Revealed Knowledge:

Therefore, the revealed knowledge of the Scripture becomes the key in understanding what the Scripture says. The lack of revealed knowledge means that the tendency to mishandle the content of the scripture will not be averted.

In order to beat the paucity of this revealed knowledge among people of his era, Apostle Paul did something. And that is he didn’t hesitate to organize people and brought them under the roof of learning. This was done in a school called the school of Tyrannus.

“But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.”

(Acts 19:9)

From the quotation above it is obvious that the school was established because of one purpose. And that is to settle the disagreement between those that have the revealed knowledge. And those who are yet to come to terms with what the truth is. Hence it becomes a wise step to take to separate the ones that are eager to learn the truth. And therefore, the adamant ones who have decided to root themselves in ignorance were let go. The same goes in the present dispensation, as many that are eager to learn the truth are taught under a man that has the revealed knowledge.
