A perfect image is attributed to someone who has been bornagain. It takes place when someone has received the Word of God in his heart. A bornagain person is the product of the Word of God. Bornagain means translation from one kingdom into another. That is from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light. In the Kingdom of Light, the believer receives a nature called the perfect nature or perfect image.

The reality is that the believer will only get to know his perfect image through the Word. The Word gives the believer what his perfect image is. Therefore, for the believer to have a concrete knowledge of what his perfect image is, there must a synergy between him and the Word. This implies that the believer should develop the right communication and understanding between him and the word. A lack of proper communication between him and the word would mean that his perfect image won’t be revealed.
The resultant effect of this is that the believer will walk beside himself. And it is a demeaning situation for a believer to walk beside himself. The implication of this is on the negative side because in totality, the believer will underutilize his potentials. This is because any believer that has the proper picture of his perfect image in Christ will walk in accordance with what he sees. However, in the absence of this knowledge, he will accept any tagged on him.

Perfect Image The Description of the Believer:
The only place the description and the perfect image of the believer are detailed out is in the bible. If the believer therefore, wants to know what his perfect image is like, he should dig assiduously in the bible. The bible is the mirror through which the believer looks through and discovers who he is. It is important to iterate that believers are actually reading the bible but in most cases they do that without understanding.
Here reading the bible without understanding means to read without focus. And this is the issue that should be resolved. And if not resolved we will continue to have believers who do not know their perfect image. Therefore, reading or listening to the word is not the problem but reading or listening without focus.
Apostle James puts it this way:
“For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.”
The problem is not that there is lack of Word in the life of a believer. But there is the lack of willpower to do what the Word has said.

Focus Is A Factor:
This is where focus comes in. A believer is said to be focused if he reads and hears the word and obey what it says. It is factual therefore to say that whatever description the Word gives to the believer is what the believer is. And if by any means the believer refuses to be that, it shows that he has lost his identity. Here, the identity of the believer stands for his perfect image. The next verse made this avowal that;
“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work,this man shall be blessed in his deed.”
The statement above calls the Word ‘perfect law of liberty’. It implies that the location of liberty is in the Word and outside the Word, what is possible is bondage. Hence, it is important to point that the consequence of doing what is found in the law of liberty is blessing and the blessing here is victory over challenges in life. This point here is very important for the believer because it will help him maintain his perfect image in Christ.
In order for the believer to maintain his perfect image in Christ focus therefore remains a key factor. For sure without focus, the believer will veers from the perfect image the Word has created for him. Again, is important we discuss about the entry point of the distractive agents in the life of the believer.

Perfect Image Is Centered On The Heart:
So the believer has to guard himself and make sure that these entry points are properly under his lock and key. It is by so doing the believer will avert the danger of distraction in his life. This is important because allowing distraction will definitely devastate the structure of his perfect image in Christ.
However, for him to properly avoid distraction the bible instructs the believer to guard his heart “Keep thy heart with all diligence;for out of it are the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23). Notice that it says that “for out of it are the issues of life”, this implies that before issues in life can be resolved it has to be settled in one’s heart. And whatever that affects the heart of the believer definitely affects that perfect image the word has created for him. This statement is true because the heart accommodates issues.
So, the heart is like the ground of the body of the believer. And whatever that is planted in it grows to affect the life of the believer. Hence the need to properly guard the heart is very important. This makes the heart the target of every distractive agent. These agents come to mount pressure on the heart in order to have a place in it. Targeting the heart here means to target the perfect image of the believer in Christ.

So a believer should not offer a place to any issue in his heart. Therefore, the most vital thing a believer should always be mindful of is his perfect image in Christ. Any believer who focuses on the word will not allow any distractive agent or issue to affect his image in Christ.
